Ministries

In addition to Bible studies, music, and the Stephen Ministry, Immanuel also provides a prayer ministry and various committees that help with social concerns through the ILCW (Immanuel Lutheran Church Women). The ILCW organizes the prayer chain and makes prayer shawls for those in need.  They also serve at funerals, engage in quilting projects, and conduct topical Bible studies. The Dorcas Club hosts Pie-In-The-Park once a year at Plainview’s Corn on the Cob parade.

Many of the women involved with ILCW are also instrumental in the LWML (Lutheran Women’s Missionary League). For more information on the LWML, you are welcome to visit their website or click here

quiltsQuilt Ministry

Many women of Immanuel have given of their time to help make quilts, which are given to those in need.  Some of the recipients are the Plainview-Elgin Food Shelf, members of our church, Immanuel Lutheran School, community members in need, the Ronald McDonald House, the Gift of Life Transplant House, the Dorothy Day House, and the Wabasha County Women’s Shelter.  Contributions to this ministry effort include, in part, funds from the Wabasha County Chapter of Thrivent.  More than 600 hours have been spend stitching blocks together, tying, and finishing the quilts.

Please feel free to contact the church office for more information about the ILCW ministry.
