The celebration of the 150th anniversary took place July 26 and 27, 2025.
Many thanks to the planning committee led by Mr. Ben Neumann. Committee members are Mark Bartsh, Jean Wingert, Lisa Hoekstra, Randy & Bonnie Boettcher, Deb Bigelow, and Pastor Augustine.
A special thanks to the members of Trinity-Elgin, Immanuel-Potsdam, and St. John’s-Hammond for their assistance for serving and clearing the meal between services. Your help is so appreciated! To God be the glory!

Saturday, July 26 Evening Social 5:00pm – 8:00pm
- Food provided by Lion’s Fire Pizza
Lion’s Fire was born out of a love for baking pizza with family and loved ones and the hope that our social enterprise could use that same kind of love to impact the lives of others.
The purpose of Lion’s Fire is to train, employ, and journey with female student-athletes from North Minneapolis. Our hope is to unlock the potential of our team members by living ‘The Vibe,’ our culture of responsibility, empowerment, and friendship. We encourage them to become strong, confident, capable individuals, equipped for careers and lives of purpose.
Note: there is a nominal $5 charge for the pizza and a soda or water.
- Beverages provided by TJ’s and Immanuel
Wine, Beer, Soda and Water (beer and wine have a $4 charge as TJ’s sells it directly)
- Music provided by LP&45s
LP & the 45s is a classic hits band from Rochester, Minnesota. - Kids activities include a bounce house, face painting, and enjoying the school playground and music
PARKING INFORMATION FOR SATURDAY NIGHT
Weather permitting, the festivities are outside, the main parking lot south of the church (west of the school) will be used for our gathering space EXCEPT for those who require handicap parking. Handicap parking spots are on the south side of the church and between the church and Christian Life Center. The elderly may also park in the spots by the cross garden. For all able-bodied people, street parking is available, and we have partnered with these area businesses to provide additional parking:
- Bennett’s parking lot (north side, closest to church grounds)
- Open lot across the street from Bennett’s Food Center and Catering
- Plainview American Legion (east side/back of the building)
- Schad & Zabel Funeral home
- Foresight Bank
- Schleicher Funeral home.
All these locations are within 2 blocks of the church.
Sunday, July 27 Special Services and Meal
- Morning Worship Service – 10:00am
- Meal Served from 11:30am – 12:45pm (no charge for the meal)
- Special Celebration Service – 1:00pm
Guest Speaker: The Reverend Dr. Dale Meyer
Speaker Emeritus of The Lutheran Hour®, Dr. Dale A. Meyer was the tenth president of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Mo., a position he has held since 2005. He also served as a professor of practical theology. He previously occupied the Seminary’s Gregg H. Benidt Memorial Chair in Homiletics and Literature 2001-2005. He also served as the interim president, 2004-2005.
