November 29 – First Sunday in Advent

The service of the Word and prayer for the First Sunday in Advent (November 29, 2020). Advent means “coming”, so it is good for us to reflect upon the hope, love, joy, and peace God provides to us as He once came in the flesh, born of the Virgin Mary. This is the incarnation; our Lord’s first advent to His people. This is what Isaiah prays for (Isaiah 64:1), and now we use those words to pray for God to come to us today to prepare us for His second advent on the Last Day.

November 22 – The Last Sunday in the Church Year

Also known as “Christ the King Sunday”, the Last Sunday of the Church Year emphasizes God’s deliverance of the faithful to eternal life. This Sunday also concludes the three-week stewardship series of thanksgiving to God for time, talent, and treasure. God entrusts us with His treasures, especially the Gospel, to be used to His glory. We thank God for His treasures that flow from His heavenly throne, even as we wait to be gathered before it on the Last Day!

CANCELLED: Country Christmas – December 4 and 5

It is with disappointment that we announce that the Old Fashioned Christmas Craft Sale is canceled. After hearing the order from Governor Walz about having no indoor events for 4 weeks, it is clear that we will have to cancel.

We all were looking forward to this great event, but we do not want to participate in something that has the potential to spread the virus.

We thank you for your patience as we came to this difficult decision. Our youth group thanks you for participating and we look forward to having you be a part of this event next year (December 3-4, 2021).

Thank you again and may you have a safe and blessed holiday season.

November 15 – Twenty-fourth Sunday after Pentecost

The service of the Word and Prayer for the Twenty-fourth Sunday after Pentecost (November 15, 2020). This Sunday we continue the series on Thanksgiving for God’s gifts of time, talent, and treasure. God’s word informs us that we are uniquely created and gifted with “talents” (spiritual and material) to work together as the body of Christ to do everything in His name and for His glory. Whether you’re very talented or modestly talented, you are still chosen and precious and forgiven. We thank God for so many talents He provides to us and the whole Christian Church!

November 8 – Twenty-third Sunday after Pentecost

The service of the Word and Prayer for the Twenty-third Sunday after Pentecost (November 8, 2020). This Sunday we begin a series on Thanksgiving for God’s gifts of time, talent, and treasure. How can we be good stewards of time when it seems to fly by; leaving us unable to catch up? By turning to the Lord Jesus and thanking Him for the gift of time and learning to be wise with it. Let us turn our hearts and lives to ones of thanksgiving for the time we are given to love and serve Him and the neighbor before He comes to bring us to the great wedding feast.
