Dec 11 – Third Sunday in Advent

The Divine Service for the Third Sunday in Advent (December 11, 2022)

“Rejoicing in the Freedom of Christ” – Matthew 11:2-15

John the Baptist is in prison. He has prepared the way for Jesus. Yet, questions remain. “Are you the one? Or should we look for another?” We also find ourselves imprisoned by fears and doubts, asking the same questions of Jesus, especially when we are supposed to be happy as Christmas approaches. Jesus is the one who gives us full freedom from sin and our own prisons of doubt and despair. Rejoice! For Christ sets you free!
