Good Friday stands at the heart and center of the three holy days even as Christ’s death on the cross stands at the heart and center of the Christian faith and life. The service of this day is marked by the Church’s deepest humility and most solemn reverence, for she gives her attention to the cross and Passion of her dear Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We are driven to the cross and confronted with its gruesomeness as what God must do to pay for our crimes.

Holy (Maundy) Thursday service recalls the institution of the Lord’s Supper for Christians to eat and drink to proclaim His death until He comes again. In this service, we are absent the Supper because of our COVID-19 distancing. It is a fast we are not used to, nor should we become used to it. But let us remember the gift and patiently await its return.
